Brent Lanford was named Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Middle Georgia Regional Commission effective July 1, 2023. We are excited to establish the first-ever CIO at the Regional Commission. Brent’s 29-year career with the Middle Georgia Regional Commission has focused on project development and management, with emphasis on the application of digital and geospatial data technologies in support of regional planning and development. Among other things, this new position will help strengthen the region’s capacity to use data analytics and spur technology-based innovation in the public sector.
